Welcome to MOUNT NUANG....
Wikipedia: Mount Nuang (Gunung Nuang) is located in Malaysia with the height of 1,493 metres (4,898 ft). Its peak marks the meeting point of three Malaysian states; Negeri Sembilan, Pahang dan Selangor.
The mountain itself is the highest point in Selangor and part of the Titiwangsa Mountains.
There are 3 hiking routes to the peak and all of them were built by Malaysian Department of Wildlife & National Parks.
The 1st start in Selangor at Kuala Pangsoon, Hulu Langat & the 2nd one at Kampung Kemensah, Gombak.
The 3rd path originates from Bukit Tinggi in Bentong town, Pahang. Guess what, Genting Highlands is visible at night from the peak.
You will get to see a forest of wild bamboos along the way…this is huge one!
For a first timer, please don’t under estimate the challenge of the mountain. It is one of the most difficult mountain to trek.
That is why it becomes a training spot for those who plan to conquer Mount Kinabalu...It was my training spot before I go for Mt Kinabalu!
You should start your journey early in the morning, the start of the trail takes about 2 hours walking on flat terrain, gravel mud road with up & down gradient...
At the end of the road, you will reached this 1st waterfall scene...
Crosses a few small streams, follows a big pipeline up to a non-functional dam….about 1½ hours or so, you will reached the first campsite called Kem Lolo … trekker will usually camp here for the night before they continue their journey to the summit earlier in the morning say 2:30am to catch the sunrise!
After 2 hour hard trek from Lolo camp, you will then reached another campsite call Pacat Camp, from camp Pacat its about another 2 1/2 hours trek to reach the summit.
Leeches! …along the way from Kem Lolo…I’m being bite by this blood sucking creature!
Had to cross a few rivers, some are easy as you can just hop from rock to rock, others are deeper, so have to take off your sneakers.
Nice clean & cold crystal clear water
What a beautiful wild flower!
After Kem Lolo, walk about ½ an hour, catch another waterfall scene here…a beautiful one….the water so clean & cold….best for Jacuzzi !!!
After Kem Lolo, continue your journey to the real trekking up the hill…quite difficult to climb as some parts are rocky with wet clay….so, make sure you have a grippy pair of shoes if you planning to go!
On my way going down the hill, I actually had muscle cramps & pain in my knees during the long hours of trekking but its fun, great sweat & help detoxifying the body as well!
Good day!
